Appointment Shopping:
Why Appointment Shopping?:
We made the switch to appointment shopping in our Leadville store in Summer 2021 to improve our customers’ shopping experience. Before appointment shopping, our shelves were empty, lines wrapped around the building, and almost everyone left empty-handed. Appointments ensure that customers can shop a wide selection of sizes and colors. Trust us, it’s better!
All pieces are designed, cut, sewn, and inspected in-house by over 100 full-time employees in our Leadville and Alamosa factories. The number of appointments per day will vary depending on fluctuations in inventory and production numbers.
Online Shopping:
We have cool stuff available online. We have always been a store first and a small local brand. We are committed to producing on a local scale and NOT outsourcing. If you live far away from Leadville, please do not travel to Leadville just to shop at our store. There are original small makers all over the country, find and support one local to you, they deserve love too!
Returns & Exchanges:

Returns must be new and unwashed for full credit.

The original receipt is required for a refund. Store credit will be given in the absence of a receipt.
You pay the shipping to us, and we will ship to you at no cost.
Fabric Colors:
We try to change our colors about once a year, depending on the fabric. Sorry we can’t accurately forecast the month that a color switch will happen, due to super long lead times in ordering fabric and the up and down nature of our production output. That’s the fleece business, baby!
Care Instructions:
The care labels on our Micro Grid products state: “WASH COLD / TUMBLE LOW”. This is the most simple baseline to follow for our products, and it is the care routine recommended (required?) by Polartec, the supplier of most of our fabrics. Do not use fabric softener.
To better preserve the original softness and loft of our fabrics: Turn the item inside out, wash cold on a gentle cycle, and hang dry!
Is your Melly smelly? Remove the stank from a polyester garment with an enzyme-based laundry soap.
Resale Policy:
With any new purchase at Melanzana, all buyers agree that they will not resell new Melanzana gear for profit. We reserve the right to refuse future service and sales to anyone who violates this agreement.
Guarantee:
We guarantee our products are free from defects. Any defective construction or materials will be repaired or replaced for free, at our discretion. Normal wear and tear is not covered.
Repairs:

We also fix Mellys here in Leadville for a $15 (minimum) fee. Unfortunately, not all repairs are possible. Our team will need to see the item in person before confirming it is repairable. To mail a repair to our Leadville factory, fill out the form (click below) and include it with your garment. Email [email protected] for more info. All items must be clean and washed when returning for repair or a $5 cleaning fee will be charged.
Bulk Orders & Wholesale:
We do not wholesale our products to other retailers.
We are not taking group or bulk orders at this time.
Lottery:
Online sales via the 2020 Lottery were a COVID-19 measure. We are no longer running the lottery.
COVID-19:
We paid our staff for Colorado’s state closure order during the first eight weeks of the coronavirus pandemic. When safe, a part-time crew made PPE instead of clothing. Over 24,000+ face masks were made and distributed to essential local workers and health care personnel. After the state’s closure was lifted, the factory store remained closed to protect our staff and community. While the store was closed, customers could shop online via the Locked Out Lottery. There are no plans to rerun an online shopping lottery. It was a COVID-19 measure.
Custom Orders:
Sorry, we do not make items to order and cannot customize colors.
Pro Deals & Sponsorships:
Melanzana is a small manufacturing company. We cannot offer pro deals or sponsorships to the general outdoor industry. We do not have social media influencers. We focus our support on social and environmental causes within our local area, and local events. Thanks for understanding.
Shipping:
Web orders now ship from our Alamosa factory. We have a staff of just one lovely person, who works four days per week, handling all fulfillment in Alamosa. So while our standard is to ship web orders by the following day, there will be circumstances like weekends, holidays, or large online Re-Stocks, where it may take up to a week to ship all outgoing orders.
We ship via USPS and UPS. Rates and service options are live quoted on our website when you place your order. Domestic USA orders only. Sorry Canada, we still love you!
