Appointment Shopping:

  • We only sell in our Leadville store, by appointment.

  • Two appointments per calendar year. Due to inventory limitations, only one booking at a time. Multiple bookings will be canceled.

  • Two items total per appointment. Some items do not require an appointment. Click here for the No Appointment Needed page. 

  • Appointment shopping allows us to maintain a large inventory, so customers have a wide selection to shop from.

  • If you are trying to book an appointment at the last minute, monitor the online booking timeslots closely. If someone cancels an appointment, their time slot will be available for booking on the calendar below.

  • Our staff is unable to help with booking last-minute appointments because cancellations are filled within minutes by other users scheduling online.

Why Appointment Shopping?:

We made the switch to appointment shopping in Summer 2021 to improve our customers’ shopping experience. Before we had appointment shopping, our shelves were empty, lines wrapped around the building, and almost everyone left empty-handed. This is not a perfect system, but it ensures that customers can shop a wide selection of sizes and colors. Trust us, it’s better!

We have 90 full-time employees. All pieces are designed, cut, sewn, inspected, and sold in Leadville, CO. We use our daily production to determine the number of appointments available. On average, we are booked two months in advance.

Why No Online Shopping?:

We can’t offer online shopping while keeping our store open. We have always been a store first and a small local brand. We are committed to producing on a local scale and NOT outsourcing.  If you live far away from Leadville, please do not travel to Leadville just to shop at our store. There are original small makers all over the country, find and support one local to you, they deserve love too!

Exchanges & Returns:

Items must be in like-new condition and unwashed for full credit.

Please use our Return & Exchange form when possible, click here for PDF form. If you do not have a Return & Exchange form, not a problem! Please include your name, shipping address, email, and phone number with the item. For exchanges, please include your desired style, gender, size, and color. Products will be shipped as available. You pay the shipping to us, and we will ship to you at no cost.

The original receipt is required for a refund. Store credit will be given in the absence of a receipt.

Fabric Colors:

We try to change our colors about once a year, depending on the fabric. Sorry we can’t accurately forecast the month that a color switch will happen, due to super long lead times in ordering fabric and the up and down nature of our production output. That’s the fleece business, baby!

COVID-19

We paid our staff for Colorado’s state closure order during the first eight weeks of the coronavirus pandemic. When safe, a part-time crew made PPE instead of clothing. Over 24,000+ face masks were made and distributed to essential local workers and health care personnel. After the state’s closure was lifted, the factory store remained closed to protect our staff and community. While the store was closed, customers could shop online via the Locked Out Lottery. There are no plans to rerun an online shopping lottery. It was a COVID-19 measure.

Resale Policy:

With any new purchase at Melanzana, all buyers agree that they will not resell new Melanzana gear for profit. We reserve the right to refuse future service and sales to anyone who violates this agreement.

Guarantee:

We guarantee our products are free from defects. Any defective construction or materials will be repaired or replaced for free, at our discretion. Normal wear and tear is not covered.

Repairs:

We repair normal wear and tear for a reasonable fee. We want to fix everything! Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee all repairs are possible. Our repairs team will need to see the item in person before confirming it is repairable. Please email [email protected] to begin the repairs process. All items must be clean when returning for repair!

Bulk Orders & Wholesale:

We do not wholesale our products to other retailers.

We are not taking group or bulk orders at this time.

Lottery:

Online sales via the 2020 Lottery were a COVID-19 measure. We are no longer running the lottery.

Custom Orders:

Sorry, we do not make items to order and cannot customize colors.

Pro Deals & Sponsorships:

Melanzana is a small manufacturing company. We cannot offer pro deals or sponsorships to the general outdoor industry. We do not have social media influencers. We focus our support on social and environmental causes within our local area, and local events. Thanks for understanding.

Shipping:

When necessary, we ship via USPS and UPS. Anything going to a PO Box, Alaska, or Hawaii must be shipped via USPS. Rates are listed below:
