The foot bed, toes and heel are all lightly padded for extra comfort over the long haul. We love this sock for trekking through rough terrain, and as an all around butt-kicking mid-weight performance sock. This is a new version: the same 5" cuff as our old trekking sock (the grey or navy ones), but with a smooth finished cuff for more comfort (not ribbed like the old version).
