6/3 — Fish Hatchery 5K
Located at the historic Leadville National Fish Hatchery, the event features a scenic cross country style course that winds through subalpine forest near and around the Evergreen Lakes and lower Rock Creek area. The route consists of dirt road, path and trail. INDIVIDUALS PRE-REGISTERED FOR THE TURQOISE LAKE HALF MARATHON PARTICIPATE FOR FREE.

6/12 — Ride the Rockies Overnight in Leadville
Ride the Rockies is scheduled June 9-15.

Leadville is one of the seven communities to host the annual Ride the Rockies bicycle tour this summer. The bike tour will overnight in Leadville on June 12.

Starting in Gunnison on June 10, cyclists will pedal over five mountain passes, through two national parks and ride the highest continuous byway in the United States. Ride the Rockies will travel to Hotchkiss, Carbondale, Leadville, Granby, Estes Park and finish in Fort Collins at Odell Brewing Company for the tour-end finale on June 15.

Beautiful course consisting of 1 lap (20 miles) or 3 laps (50 miles) around the scenic Turquoise Lake paved road.

7/14 — Leadville Trail 100 Silver Rush 50-Mile Mountain Bike Race
The 50-mile out-and-back course takes racers through the historic mining district on the east side of Leadville. Primarily on double track dirt roads, first set by miners and their burros, it will begin at the Cloud City Ski Hut (located just below Colorado Mountain College on Hwy 24 on the South end of Leadville). The start will be a dramatic mass start up Dutch Henri Hill to an old mining road. The route will take riders by and between many grand and historic gold and silver mines.

This run is conducted on the same course as the Silver Rush 50-MIle Mountain Bike Race.

A scenic 100 mile out and back in the midst of the Colorado Rockies. Lowest point is 9,200 ft. and the highest point is Hope Pass, 12,600 ft. 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge - The toughest race on American soil is coming back through Lake County during 2012.

Stage 3, August 22 - Route travels from Gunnison to Twin Lakes, up and over Independence Pass into Aspen

Stage 4, August 23 - Racers ascend the other side of Independence Pass, down into Twin Lakes, through Leadville and finish in Beaver Creek.
